More Signs of Spring

Fishing Season Closing

As the bank conditions continue to deteriorate we are now entering the closed season for our fishing. It is expected that the fishing will reopen on Easter Saturday – March 30th. 2013 – and this will be confirmed to all exisiting members. There are still a few vacancies for the Fishing Club should you wish to consider joining for the new year. Contact the office in the usual way for more details.

Scar Caught!

On Saturday 21st. the carp known as ‘Scar’ was caught from the main reservoir. He weighed in at 48 pounds!! Unfortunately the fisherman who caught it came off worse than Scar with a line cut on one hand and several bruises so he didn’t manage to get a photograph. He was returned to the lake for others to join the hunt. The bait was worm and maggot.

Catch Report

One of our regulars provided a catch report for last weekend from the main lake. He caught Roach galore, loads of Common and Mirror Carp about 8 lbs., one Mirror Carp weighing 12 lbs. 4 ozs. and a surprising Golden Tench at 1 lb. 2 ozs. Another visitor reported good fishing as well but remarked at 11 a.m it was like they all went off for their lunch, resuming feeding at noon!
