New Arrivals

Ealier we reported the visits that a pair of swans werer making to the reservoirs but unfortunately they didn’t like what they found. So we’ve had no signets this year. Never the less we have had several other new arrivals on the lake and below you’ll find pictures of them.

Today in driving rain the drilling rig finally rolled out of the field! After pumping water for 24 hours at a considerable rate the drilling team were finally willing to concede that they had found water. Those of you with calendars will see that the rig came on site in November last year for a job that was to take about 7 to 10 days! If you’re interested there’s a geological map of the area in the office which shows the difficult underlying strata that, among other things, has made this job so difficult. Not finished yet but at least Bramcote Mains is making progress in its preparation to combat the drought conditions!

DRILLING FOR WATER!

Some of you who have visted the site in the last week may have seen that the drilling team have arrived to look for water. So far they’ve found an awful lot of wet clay, a little oil and rumours of gas reserves! Today they will be cleaning up the drilling area a little and then starting into the sandstone which they believe caps the water. Watch this space!

If you keep your eyes open over the next couple of weeks you may see a drilling rig arrive on the farm. No. David hasn’t changed the name of the place to Southfork, he’s just found yet another diversification to exploit! He’s drilling for water but if he hits oil that’ll be a bonus. Watch this space for further news.

Windy Days!

Just to let everyone know it’s been a little windy at Bramcote the last fews days! So much so that our Wind Turbine has been working very well. It produced a new high of 162 kwh yesterday and 310 kwh over the last two days. If you haven’t seen the video about the installation yet just follow this link and click on the photo at the bottom of the page.
